THE JOY OF SUCH DIFFERENT ART WORKS AND INTERPRETATIONS OF SUBJECT !

After teaching I just put this together quickly – not my finest work but certainly bright and a LOT of FUN.

Objective – To make Yourself feel Happy and Worthy – Objective Achieved!!!

While meeting with some of my girlfriends I picked up that one of them had some underlying sadness.  We all tried to help each other out and say all the right things and then I hit upon an idea.  I have a website that says art has a certain therapeutic effect so bring in my girls and let’s have some art, wine and food.

Emus with their happy quirky personality was an obvious choice for non arty types – well two of them not so arty (don’t let them know I said that!).  So, the planning began for a lesson to lift one’s spirits, as well as a safe place to be able to talk about anything and everything, and build up self-confidence and worth!!!!

As you can see from the photos, I drew some faces and then let the girls decide what they wanted their picture to look like.  They then traced the faces or drew the face themselves.  We worked through background after making sure we had painted in lightly the basics of our drawing.  We applied texture through the use of oil pastels, markers, leaf prints and resist techniques.    Finally when we had the basis of the picture we then went in with Posca Pens, Stabilo crayons and highlighted the best of the paintings.

The most amazing thing is that each picture represented the person’s character and was identified correctly by an outside source as to which picture belonged to which person.

Never doubt the uplifting qualities of Art and Friendship and the delights of Emu’s.
